Apartment Safety Tips for Cozy Fall Living at Liv Northgate-image

Fall in Gilbert means fewer scorching afternoons, more time on the patio, and — eventually — the first cool evenings that make a fireplace or a space heater tempting again. Cozier weather brings its own set of safety considerations, and a few simple habits can keep Liv Northgate feeling warm and comfortable without the risk. Here's what to check as the season changes. Test Your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors Fall is the easiest time of year to forget this simple step, but it's the most important one. Test every smoke detector in your home, replace batteries if needed, and confirm carbon monoxide detectors are working before you start relying on heating equipment more heavily. If you notice a detector chirping or missing, let the on-site maintenance team know right away — it's a quick fix that shouldn't wait. Use Space Heaters and Patio Heaters the Right Way Gilbert evenings cool off quickly once fall settles in, and a portable space heater or patio heater is often the easiest way to stay comfortable outside. Keep any heater on a flat, stable surface, away from curtains, furniture, and foot traffic, and always turn it off before leaving the room or heading to bed. If you use a patio heater, check that it's rated for outdoor use and keep it clear of anything flammable. Practice Candle and Fireplace Safety Fall and early winter bring more candles, string lights, and cozy evenings — and more opportunities for a small mistake to become a real problem. Keep candles at least 12 inches from anything flammable, never leave them burning unattended, and consider flameless LED candles for a similar look with none of the risk. If your unit includes a fireplace, have it inspected before first use each season and keep the area around it clear. Check Your Kitchen Setup Before Fall Baking Season Ramps Up Fall means more oven use — from weekend baking to holiday prep starting early. Keep a working fire extinguisher in the kitchen, clean built-up grease from the stovetop and oven before it becomes a fire risk, and never leave cooking food unattended, especially when multitasking with guests or a busy schedule. Don't Overload Outlets and Extension Cords String lights, extra lamps, and a space heater or two can add up fast on a single outlet. Avoid daisy-chaining extension cords or power strips, check cords periodically for fraying or damage, and give heat-generating appliances like space heaters their own outlet rather than sharing a power strip with other devices. Clear the Dryer Vent Before Heavier Use Sets In Lint buildup in a dryer vent is one of the most common — and most preventable — causes of household fires, and it becomes more likely as laundry loads increase with heavier fall clothing. Clean the lint trap after every load, and if your unit's dryer is taking longer than usual to dry a load, let maintenance know so the vent can be checked. Watch for Dry-Season Fire Risk Gilbert's fall months are typically dry, and dry conditions raise the risk of a small spark becoming a bigger problem — especially with patio grilling, fire pits, or outdoor heaters in more regular use. Never leave a grill or fire pit unattended, keep a fire extinguisher nearby, and fully extinguish any flame before heading inside. A Quick Fall Safety Checklist Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries as needed. Clear lint from the dryer vent — a leading cause of home fires as usage increases in cooler weather. Keep space heaters at least three feet from furniture, curtains, and bedding, and never leave one running unattended or overnight. Avoid overloading outlets and extension cords with multiple heat-generating appliances. Have an emergency contact list and a flashlight easily accessible in case of a power outage.   Come See Liv Northgate for Yourself Ready to make the move? Fall in the East Valley: Events & Festivals Near Liv Northgate-image

As soon as the heat breaks, Gilbert's Heritage District turns into one of the East Valley's best fall destinations — and Liv Northgate's location puts residents close to nearly all of it. Here's a look at the best fall events near Liv Northgate this season. Harvest in the Heritage District Downtown Gilbert's signature fall celebration runs from late September through early November, anchored by the Great Gilbert Gourd Hunt — a scavenger hunt featuring pumpkin art created by renowned pumpkin carver Ray Villafane. It's a multi-week draw that turns the whole Heritage District into a fall destination. Sound Bites Music & Food Festival Held at Gilbert Regional Park, Sound Bites combines live music, craft drinks, and food trucks into an evening festival that's become an early-October favorite. It's an easy option for a night out without leaving Gilbert. Why Fall Feels Different in Gilbert Gilbert's Heritage District was built for exactly this kind of season — walkable brick streets, a historic Water Tower as a backdrop, and enough restaurants and shops nearby that an event never feels like the only reason to visit. Once the summer heat breaks, the district fills back up with locals rather than just event crowds. Pumpkin Patches Around Gilbert Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch opens in early October with rides, games, and face painting, building up to dedicated trick-or-treat activities on Halloween weekend. Another local pumpkin patch and farm on Baseline Road adds hayrides, a maze, and a petting zoo to the fall lineup — both are easy day trips from Liv Northgate. Gilbert Art Walk & Heritage District Farmers Market Starting in October, the Gilbert Art Walk returns on the first and third Saturday of the month near the historic Water Tower at Page and Ash, while the Heritage District Farmers Market runs every Saturday morning through the fall and winter. Together, they make for an easy, walkable Saturday morning routine in downtown Gilbert. A Season Made for Exploring the Heritage District What makes fall especially convenient for Liv Northgate residents is how concentrated it all is. The Great Gilbert Gourd Hunt, the Art Walk, and the Heritage District Farmers Market all happen within the same walkable few blocks of downtown Gilbert, so a Saturday morning can easily cover all three without much planning. Making the Most of Fall at Liv Northgate Between the Heritage District's weeks-long Harvest celebration, a music festival at Gilbert Regional Park, and a steady rotation of Saturday markets and art walks, fall gives Liv Northgate residents no shortage of reasons to get outside. Pair a Saturday market visit with lunch on a dog-friendly patio nearby, and you've got an easy East Valley fall weekend. A Great Time to Explore Beyond Gilbert Fall's milder weather also makes it worth venturing a little further — nearby Chandler and Mesa run their own fall festivals during the same stretch, and Loop 202 makes any of them an easy add-on to a Gilbert weekend. A Fall Weekend Worth Planning Around If you only have one weekend to spend on fall in Gilbert, aim for early October — Sound Bites, the Art Walk's season opener, and the height of the Great Gilbert Gourd Hunt all overlap, giving you a full day of events without leaving the Heritage District. Plan Ahead for the Season Harvest in the Heritage District runs for weeks, so there's no rush to see the Great Gilbert Gourd Hunt the first weekend. Sound Bites tends to sell out — grab tickets early if you want to attend. Bring a reusable water bottle and sun protection — early fall afternoons in the East Valley can still climb into the 90s. Back-to-School Living: Why Gilbert Is Great for Students & Professionals-image

As the school year kicks back into gear, Gilbert becomes one of the East Valley's most practical home bases — not just for students, but for the nurses, educators, and professionals who keep the region running. Liv Northgate sits at the center of it all, making it one of the best options for apartments near ASU Polytechnic, apartments near Intel, and apartments near Loop 202 in a single address. Minutes From ASU's Polytechnic Campus Arizona State University's Polytechnic campus sits right on Gilbert's eastern border, serving around 6,000 students across roughly 30 degree programs in engineering, aviation, technology, and applied sciences. For students who want the ASU experience without the density of the Tempe campus, an apartment near Loop 202 like Liv Northgate offers a straightforward commute — with the option to live somewhere built for grown-up amenities instead of dorm-style housing. Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Gilbert Public Schools Chandler-Gilbert Community College has served the area since 1985 and enrolls more than 17,000 students, making it a strong option for associate degrees and transfer credit. Families and educators also benefit from Gilbert Public Schools, ranked among the top school districts in Arizona — a strong draw for teachers and staff who want to live close to where they work. Steps From the Price Road Tech Corridor Just across the border in Chandler, Intel's Ocotillo campus employs more than 12,000 workers and anchors a broader tech corridor that includes PayPal, Microchip Technology, and NXP Semiconductor. Gilbert itself is home to GoDaddy, Banner Health, Northrop Grumman, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, and Isagenix's headquarters. Liv Northgate sits close enough to reach any of these employers without a lengthy commute. Convenient for Healthcare and Education Careers Gilbert is home to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and Banner Gateway Medical Center, giving nurses and healthcare workers a short commute regardless of shift. Combined with Gilbert Public Schools' strong reputation, the area works well for anyone in healthcare or education looking for a central, well-connected place to live. A Neighborhood That Fits Every Stage of the Semester Move-in day, midterms, finals week, and everything in between look different depending on your schedule, and Gilbert's central location gives students and professionals room to adjust. A quick trip to ASU Polytechnic or Chandler-Gilbert Community College on a class-heavy day, a longer stretch working from home on a lighter one, and easy weekend access to Gilbert's parks and trails for a study break all fit comfortably into daily life here. A Growing Hub for Students and Professionals Alike Gilbert has grown quickly into one of the East Valley's most sought-after addresses for exactly this mix of residents — students commuting to nearby campuses, healthcare workers staffing local hospitals, and professionals working the Price Road Corridor. That demand has made a well-located, amenity-rich community like Liv Northgate a practical choice for anyone trying to balance a short commute with a comfortable place to live. Room to Grow Into a Career Because Gilbert sits within reach of so many different job centers — Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, and beyond — it's a practical place to put down roots even as a career changes direction. A first job out of ASU Polytechnic, a later move into healthcare or tech, or a shift to hybrid work can all be managed from the same address without adding a longer commute. Amenities Built for Busy Schedules Back-to-school season means packed calendars, and Liv Northgate's amenities are designed to give some of that time back. Multiple heated pools and spas, a 24/7 "Liv Fit" fitness center, and "The Hub" social lounge with a coffee bar and billiards make it easy to study, unwind, or recharge without leaving home. Add in the on-site bark park for pet-owning students and professionals alike, and Liv Northgate covers the details that make a demanding schedule easier to manage. Living in Gilbert Without the Commute Stress: A Location Guide-image

One of the biggest factors in any apartment search is the commute — and it's exactly where Liv Northgate has a built-in advantage. Located near Recker Road in Gilbert, AZ, Liv Northgate sits minutes from Loop 202, giving residents fast, flexible access across the entire East Valley. If a punishing Gilbert AZ commute is what's pushing your search, here's why this location changes the math. A Location Built Around Loop 202 Loop 202 (the San Tan Freeway) is the road that ties the East Valley together, connecting Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe, with direct links to I-10 and US-60. For residents living in apartments near Loop 202 like Liv Northgate, that means the freeway isn't a once-a-week trip — it's the everyday shortcut to work, appointments, and weekend plans. Commute Times at a Glance Destination Approx. Drive Time Distance Chandler 10 minutes ~6 miles Mesa 15-18 minutes ~8 miles Tempe 20 minutes ~9-11 miles Scottsdale 24 minutes ~17-18 miles Note: drive times vary by time of day and exact destination; use these as planning estimates rather than guarantees. Why East Valley Commute Living Works From Gilbert Chandler is essentially next door, making it a 10-minute trip for dinner, errands, or work along the Price Road Corridor. Mesa, home to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and ASU's Polytechnic campus, is roughly 15-18 minutes away. Tempe — with Arizona State University's main campus and a dense corridor of employers — is about 20 minutes up Loop 202, and Scottsdale's job and shopping corridor typically runs 24 minutes depending on traffic. For East Valley commute living, that kind of reach from a single address is hard to beat. Who Benefits Most From This Location Gilbert's mix of freeway access and master-planned neighborhoods makes it a practical home base for a wide range of commuters. Hybrid employees who split time between home and a Tempe or Phoenix office appreciate having Loop 202 minutes away. Healthcare workers commuting between Gilbert, Chandler, and Mesa medical campuses benefit from quick cross-town access at odd hours, and professionals working anywhere along the Price Road Corridor can often reach the office in well under 20 minutes. Reverse Commutes and Weekend Trips Loop 202's reach also pays off outside of rush hour. A reverse commute from Gilbert into Tempe or Scottsdale during off-peak hours is typically faster than commuting the other direction into the East Valley. On weekends, that same freeway access means Tempe Town Lake, Old Town Scottsdale, and downtown Chandler are all within a short drive. A Master-Planned Community With Freeway Convenience Gilbert has built a reputation as one of the best-planned suburbs in the Valley, with wide arterial roads, dedicated bike lanes, and a downtown Heritage District that's grown into a genuine dining and entertainment destination. Pairing that planning with quick Loop 202 access means residents get suburban convenience without giving up a fast route to the rest of the East Valley. A Location That Scales With Your Career Gilbert's proximity to multiple job corridors means a Loop 202 commute stays manageable even as a career changes shape — a first job near ASU Polytechnic, a later move to a Price Road Corridor employer, or a shift to a hybrid schedule with occasional trips into Phoenix or Scottsdale. Few East Valley addresses offer that same flexibility without requiring a move. Beyond the Freeway: Everyday Convenience A great commute isn't only about the freeway — it's about how much of daily life you can handle without getting on it at all. Liv Northgate's location near Recker Road puts residents close to major employers, shopping, and dining, so the freeway becomes a tool you use by choice, not a requirement for every errand. The Bottom Line If your last apartment search left you dreading the drive, Liv Northgate's position near Loop 202 is designed to fix that. Fast, flexible access to Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale means your job, your friends, and your favorite weekend spots all stay within easy reach.   Come See Liv Northgate for Yourself Ready to make the move?
